Outbound Freight Coordinator


Key functions and responsibilities:

We are looking for a strong Outbound Freight Supervisor - the ideal candidate is a flexible planner who has the ability to analyze information from different areas, think on their feet, and effectively communicate and coordinate with others to achieve results. Strong oral and written comprehension and communication skills are key to this position, as is a sharp mind with a high level of attention to detail. Must possess leadership skills.

  • Aware of S&D and MM modules of SAP.

  • Coordinate, assign and review the work related to inbound, order entry, outbound and 3PLs.

  • Assisting with the re-negotiating of terms of service level agreements of carriers, performance evaluation and taking corrective action as required.

  • Manage outbound freight including compliant customers like Walmart, Costco, Brick, Best Buy.

  • Oversee the entire process of APPT scheduling, timely RPA’s for Collect customers, assist department with daily issues and process logistical returns/refusals

  • Supervise, assist, and instruct warehouses with daily work duties and urgent orders.

  • Supervise, maintain, and operate TMS (HicanShip) including tendering, updating, revising, and developing.

  • Calculate chargeable weight based on cubic feet or linear feet methods.

  • Participate in improvement efforts to increase service reliability, reduce transit time and/or decrease delivery cost

  • Maintain return transactions from the customers and resolve related issues.

  • Deal with compliance penalties and investigate to determine responsible party.

  • Optimize outbound logistics process to make it more efficient and productive.

  • Review shipping and delivery turn-around.

  • Deliver against departmental KPIs.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • College or university education: Supply Chain Management/ Logistics

  • 6+ years of Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Distribution required.

  • PC skills (Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong Excel knowledge ( formulas and functions Vlookup , pivot tables)
