Sales Director - Home Comfort Products


Key functions and responsibilities:

  • Developing key growth sales strategies, tactics, and action plans. Successful execution of these strategies is required to achieve your financial targets. Sales Director duties will include hitting annual targets, building relationships, and understanding customer trends. Developing and communicating revenue targets and individual sales goals to the sales team.

  • Creating good rapport with customers to develop and maintain trustworthiness by understanding their business needs and objectives.

  • Understand category-specific landscapes and trends.
  • Overseeing the sales team, motivating, and inspiring employees to meet sales targets that match the company’s goals.
  • Training and orienting new hires.

  • Establishing targets to act as a guideline that enables measurement of individual and group performance.

  • Providing regular detailed sales reports.

  • Determining annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies, analyzing trends and results.
  • Implementing national sales programs by developing field sales action plans.
  • Maintaining sales volume by tracking changing trends, economic indicators, competitors and supply and demand.

Sales Achievement

  • Achieves sales and profit targets for the assigned accounts and planning goals for new strategic partners.

  • New Market Penetration/ Optimization

  • Develop and deliver product presentations, pricing proposals and navigate key decision makers.
  • Collaborate with teams to plan and execute new launches, promotions, events that drive sell-thru and analyze ROI.

External - Account Planning/ Account Management

  • Product planning with retail accounts.
  • Plan promotional calendars in collaboration with retailers.
  • Forecast product requirements by account - share details with the product team and factories.
  • Monitor sell thru performance and adjust plan as necessary.
  • Secure in-store product flooring and online listings.
  • Budget / track promotional and marketing spend such as MDF.
  • Coordinate sales training.
  • Coordinate inbound product / delivery.
  • Seek additional opportunities within each account and new channels where applicable.

Education & Experience:

  • College or university education: Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of progressive sales experience managing a top-tier retail customer.
  • Home Comfort, Home Appliance, Consumer Electronics, and/or Retail background preferred.

  • Project Management and process improvement exposure.
  • PC skills (Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • SAP experience is an asset.
  • Bilingual is a bonus.
